Often known to be an expression of weakness and probably a cliché surrounded by the word sensitive. It’s the vibe that gives us the feeling, in fact it is the feeling itself. What does it mean to be sensitive, is it to be sensitive to other feelings, emotions, viewpoints or sensitive to oneself or is it a personality? Time and again, our memory has reminded us to be respectful to other’s opinions or viewpoints in which case, it remains in the realm of the mind.
It is being sensitive to the situation. The more sensitive we are to the situation greater is the clarity of perception. Perceiving the moment has become a challenge nowadays, as stress seems to have taken over our lives. The ability to perceive the moment clearly is a trait to relish and self-awareness is the key to this quality, in fact, it is the awareness itself. So, the underlying connection between a relaxed mind, perception and its influence on situations is subtle and imminent.
This I believe is the need of the hour and a basic quality of any leader. Why only a leader? A leader doesn’t necessarily need to hold a high position, it is a quality that naturally further improves one’s quality of living, broadens one’s vision and enhances the spirit. There is a leader in all of us and we just need to tap into this skill set.
Many are naturally sensitive and carry a warm aura. Is this sufficient? Yes and no. No, because, the situation demands us to be alert. An alert mind is to be awake, not just physically but mentally as well. So, the first step is to be sensitive what the management books say, ‘start from the heart’! But how can a stressed mind start from the heart? Each one of us have a unique body & mind and we respond to stress in a unique way. Nevertheless, we end up beating our minds in the hope to manage a stressful situation. The intent is good, sadly, the method seems to be a hard toil.
Lucky are those who are self-aware and work towards sustaining the level of awareness because there lies the answer. This way we have an opportunity to exercise our intuitive capability, assuming it is present, and know how it works.
